Changes to spam filter

In an attempt to combat the growing levels of spam being transmitted to NAMI addresses, we have implemented several new “rule sets” designed to trap the newer, more sophisticated spam messages which our filters have not been marking properly to-date. There is a very small chance that these new rules may catch legitimate mail (known as “ham” in the filter industry). NAMI e-mail users are therefore advised to please be sure to check your local spam arrangements* to ensure no new “false positives” are generated. If you do see an increase in false positives, please report it to support@nami.org so we may take action accordingly.

* Users whose mailers have been configured by the NAMI National IT department should check the JUNK E-MAIL folder regularly, and empty it at least once a week (empty it now if you haven’t recently). Other users should contact their local IT contacts for advice or send a note to support@nami.org for further assistance.
