The public website will be inaccessible to the outside world for the next few hours while we perform some final upgrades. Service will be restored once work is complete.

12:00 PM Update: Service has been restored.

New Feature: eSupport

Monday, January 9th, 2006

As part of our continuing network expansion, I’m happy to announce NAMI eSupport. This new IT helpdesk system will ensure you receive timely and efficient support whenever you have IT-related problems or questions.

To access the system, visit http://support.nami.org. Be sure to bookmark this site or make it a favorite, as some of the problems you experience may prevent you from reaching eSupport through the NAMInet site or from the links in the member’s section of the website.

You can also use the system by simply sending an e-mail to support@nami.org. This will register your request in the system automatically, and eSupport will send you an acknowledgement e-mail providing you with information to allow you to track your request as it is addressed.

Please also find attached a PDF file containing detailed instructions on how to use the eSupport system. If you cannot read PDF files, there is a link to an MS Word version of the file here. Please be aware the MS Word version of the file is very large and can take quite some time to download.

Please direct any questions or comments about the eSupport system to support@nami.org.

eSupport FAQ:

Q: Does this mean you will no longer accept direct requests or support phone calls?
A: No. While I very strongly encourage everyone to use the support site or send e-mail to support@nami.org whenever they have a problem, I will also be happy to answer direct questions via phone. I may ask you to re-direct your e-mailed support requests, if only to ensure we build up our knowledgebase with effective solutions to everyone’s IT needs.

Q: Can you walk me through how to use the system?
A: Yes. Please call 703-516-7221 if you need assistance using the eSupport system.

Q: Can other departments use this system to provide technical support to their own constituents?
A: Yes. The eSupport system is very flexible in how it manages different “help desk” areas. Send a note to support@nami.org for more information.

Q: Is there a charge involved in using the eSupport system?
A: No. The eSupport system is free.
